Richard Barke
Richard Barke joined ExxonMobil in 2004 after completing his PhD in Geology, from the University of Oxford. In his 20 year career, he has had several technical and managerial roles within ExxonMobil Exploration, Production and Research Companies in the UK and US.
Mr. Barke currently serves as Director for South Atlantic Exploration, ExxonMobil Upstream Company, responsible for managing the Corporation’s exploration acreage and developing new exploration ventures across Sub-Saharan Africa and South America. Prior leaderships positions include Upstream Geophysics Manager, Upstream Research Planning Manager and Geoscience Manager for Angola and Tanzania Developments, in
addition to technical roles in Global Exploration, Nigeria Exploration and North Sea Production.
Richard is an avid mentor and has a passion for developing new lines of business working with talented and multidisciplinary teams. He loves to spend his spare time with his young family in Houston, travelling to the UK, Europe and Colombia, and running the occasional marathon or trail run.
