Mário Ferreira do Nascimento was born in Luanda on August 14, 1967. He is married and a father of two children. He graduated in Economics from the Higher Institute of Economics and Management (ISEG) at the Technical University of Lisbon (Portugal), specializing in Political Economy. He also holds postgraduate degrees from Católica Lisbon Business & Economics and Nova School of Business & Economics.

Mário has held several significant positions throughout his career, including Managing Director of EY Angola, Consultant to the Governor of the National Bank of Angola, Director of the Accounting and Financial Management Department of the National Bank of Angola, Executive Director of the Capital Market Commission, Secretary of State for the Treasury, Interim Coordinating Director at the Angolan Bank of Business and Commerce (appointed by the National Bank of Angola), and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Banco Sol.

Currently, he serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Angolan Banking Association and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Deposit Guarantee Fund.
