Jacob Flewelling

Jacob has more than 15 years of experience in project finance, political risk insurance and infrastructure project preparation in Africa, Latin America, and South Asia. Before joining the DFC’s regional Africa team in September 2020, Jacob served for five years as the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Manager for USTDA, the U.S. government’s project preparation agency, also based in Johannesburg. Prior to USTDA, Jacob worked as an Investment Insurance Officer in the Africa and Latin America regions at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (now the DFC). Jacob earned a Master's degree in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the School of International Service at American University. Jacob speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
