Hunter Farris is Senior Vice President – Deepwater for ExxonMobil. In this role, Hunter leads the strategy, planning, development, and execution of the company’s global deepwater business, which includes the key operating areas of Guyana, Angola, Nigeria, the East Coast of Canada, and Brazil. Since joining ExxonMobil in 1991 as a field support engineer in Corpus Christi, Texas, Hunter has held various positions in engineering, operations management, major projects, crude oil trading and strategic business planning. His senior leadership assignments include work in the United States, Norway, Malaysia, Europe, the Caspian Sea and Africa where he was instrumental in reshaping ExxonMobil’s upstream portfolio and the revitalization of significant fields. He assumed leadership over ExxonMobil’s deepwater business in 2019 – the same year the company brought Guyana to produce first oil in less than 5 years (nearly unheard of in the energy industry) and become an energy superpower practically overnight.  Under Hunter’s direction and through collaborative work with the Guyanese government, Guyana is one of the largest oil producers per capita in the world with four projects in operation and three additional in development. Hunter resides in The Woodlands, Texas, with his wife and has a son in university.  He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and is avid for fitness, mountain biking and watersports on the lake
