Fernando Chivinda
Fernando is a seasoned banker with over 15 years of experience in the financial sector. Throughout his career, he has held various key positions within the banking industry. He started as a Biology, Chemistry and Music Teacher at the Catholic Church School in Luanda for 7 years before joining the financial services sector. At Banco Millenium, he served as an Assistant Relationship Manager and later as a Corporate Relationship Manager. In 2013, he joined Standard Bank Angola’s Personal and Business Banking division, initially as a
Relationship Manager – SME, before progressing to Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking in 2014. His deep expertise led him to the role of Head of Commercial Banking from 2020 to 2024 and since March 2024, he has been appointed as the Executive Head of Business Commercial Banking. With extensive technical knowledge in lending and client relationship management, Fernando is well-positioned for this strategic role. His skill set and broad industry experience are crucial in leveraging BCB’s competitive and holistic client solutions to meet diverse client needs. Fernando also participated in the bank’s New Leaders Development Programme, which took him to South Africa, Mozambique, Ghana, and Botswana. He holds prestigious qualifications, including the Global Leadership Program in Personal & Business Banking (PBB) and Coaching from Cornerstone. In 2023, he
successfully completed the Acceleration Program from Henley Business School Limited and 2019, and (UK) and the Digital Disruption program from Cambridge University.
