Elmano Sousa Costa joined Morais Leitão Legal Circle in 2007 and is the co-coordinator of the international Oil & Gas team.

Elmano has expertise in structured finance and project finance, representing lenders and sponsors across various business areas, including energy production (wind farms, photovoltaic, mini hydro, and biomass), infrastructure concessions (motorways, football stadiums, and transportation), natural resources, water and sewage concessions, and hazardous waste recovery plants.

Qualified to practice in Brazil, Elmano has also worked for two years at the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro offices of the Brazilian law firm Mattos Filho, where he was part of the infrastructure team. There, he supported local and international clients on upstream and midstream oil & gas deals, infrastructure financing, M&A, and provided legal support to international groups investing in Brazil.

In addition, Elmano has been active in real estate finance, the negotiation of derivatives master agreements, debt issuance transactions, and banking debt restructuring.
