Baltazar Miguel
Baltazar Agostinho Gonçalves Miguel is an Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Sonangol E.P., reappointed in May 2024 for a new mandate. From October 2020 to May 2024, he served as Chairman of the Board Risk Committee of Sonangol E.P.
Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions, including Executive Board Member of Sonangol E.P. (2017–2019 and 2019–2024) and Non-Executive Board Member of Puma Energy (2018–2022). He was Chairman of the Executive Commission of Academia Sonangol (2013–2018) and General Director of the Polytechnic Institute of Technologies and Sciences (ISPTEC) from 2012 to 2018. Between 2009 and 2012, he served as a Member of the Executive Commission of Sonangol Refinery of Luanda, and from 2010 to 2011, he was part of the Capital Markets Installation Commission.
Previously, he worked as Human Resources Director at Sonangol Distribuidora (2003–2007) and Sonangol Refinery of Luanda (2007–2009). Between 2000 and 2004, he contributed to Sonangol E.P.’s Organizational Development project and led the Corporate Restructuring Project at Sonangol Distribuidora (1999–2003). Earlier in his career, he worked in accounting and finance at Petrogal (now Galp Energia) and Sonangol Distribuidora.
Academically, Baltazar holds a degree in Business Management and Economics from the University of Salford, Manchester, and a Master’s in Monetary Policy, Banking, and Finance from the University of Sheffield Management School, in the United Kingdom.
