Alioune is Shell’s Country Chairman and Managing Director in Angola, a role he assumed in April 2026. In this capacity, he leads Shell’s re-establishment in support of Angola’s production stabilization and capability building agenda. Prior to this role he served as Production Director in Shell’s industry-leading Gulf of America portfolio. Previously, Alioune was Chief of Staff to the Global Executive VPS of Safety, Environment & Asset Management Excellence from our headquarters.A graduate of McGill (Mechanical Engineering) and Cornell University (Executive MBA), Alioune began his 20-year career in downstream and has since held a variety of Technical, Operational and Strategic Leadership positions across refining, onshore shales and offshore deepwater. Leading high-performing teams and turnaround programs across multiple geographies, asset life cycles, value chain segments and tough externalities has shaped the visionary, results-oriented and partnership-focused leader that he is today. He fully intends to leverage his experiences across Africa, Europe and North America to align the Company’s ambitions with the Continent’s aspirations.
