- Essential market intelligence to support Angola’s new phase of exploration and investment
- AOG 2026: “Investing in Angola's Future” runs 9–10 September in Luanda
S&P Global Energy, the leading independent provider of information, data, analysis, and benchmark prices for global energy and commodity markets, and a division of S&P Global, will join the 2026 Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) Conference and Exhibition as a Knowledge Provider. This participation underscores S&P Global Energy’s commitment to market transparency and the information needs of Angola and Africa, as the region navigates a new phase of exploration, production and investment.
Now in its seventh year, AOG is recognized as Angola’s premier deal-making and investment platform for the oil and gas sector, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers and service providers.
Organised by Energy Capital & Power (ECP), the 2026 event is expected to attract more than 3,000 delegates from more than 40 countries, with sessions focused on Angola’s upstream and midstream investment drive over the next five years.
S&P Global Energy’s participation comes at a pivotal moment for Angola, as the country enters a new production cycle with expanded output and renewed exploration in frontier provinces.
S&P Global Energy thought leaders will participate in sessions including:
- Advancing Angola's Deepwater Frontier Momentum I Strategic Track
- Angola's Blocks on the Map: Licensing, Partnerships, and the Future of Upstream | Leadership Roundtable Track

According to S&P Global Energy analysts, Angola’s pragmatic investment approach has revived exploration and redevelopment interest, unlocking new hydrocarbon-producing regions and supporting sector growth. Angola’s oil production is expected to align with the government’s target of 1 million barrels per day in 2027.
S&P Global Energy’s Energy Terms and Risk (EnTR) team ranks Angola as the leader among West Africa's mature producers for above-ground risks and hydrocarbon sector entry, with further improvement to Angola's investment attractiveness anticipated over the coming five years.
“Against this backdrop, S&P Global Energy’s participation at AOG 2026 will support discussions around capital allocation, project economics, commodity markets and long-term supply trends,” said James Chester, CEO, ECP. “As companies assess opportunities across Angola’s upstream portfolio, independent market intelligence will be increasingly important in evaluating commercial viability, benchmarking projects against global opportunities and identifying emerging areas of growth.”
