One year after opening, the facility has supported more than 100 digital and operational projects across Angola, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. According to SLB, these projects have contributed to higher equipment availability, faster turnaround times and reduced production deferments.

The center also reflects the growing importance of technology to Angola’s production strategy. The country’s mature producing base requires operators to simultaneously optimize existing fields, develop incremental resources and advance new projects. SLB identifies well intervention, digitalization and integrated performance solutions as important tools for addressing natural decline and improving recovery from mature assets.

Technology is already being deployed locally. SLB has introduced its Delfi digital platform in Angola and moved subsurface workflows to the cloud, while a three-year agreement signed with Azule Energy in March 2026 will expand use of the platform across the company’s Angolan operations. The platform will support Azule’s diverse portfolio in the country by supporting faster decision-making, enabling more consistent workflow and execution while supporting reliable energy delivery.

These moves aligns closely with the investment priorities and technology milestones set to shape discussions at AOG 2026. The conference provides a platform for operators and technology providers alike to examine how innovation can support the country’s exploration and production goals.
