Sistran Backs Angola's Digital Transformation as Silver Sponsor of AOG 2026
Technology and engineering solutions company Sistran has joined the Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2026 Conference & Exhibition as a Silver Sponsor, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the digital transformation of Angola's oil and gas industry.

Ahead of the event, Nuno Silva, the company's Projects and Operations Administrator, said Angola is entering a period of accelerated technology adoption as operators seek to maximize recovery from mature assets, improve operational efficiency and maintain competitiveness.

“Technologies such as AI-driven analytics, digital twins, predictive maintenance and advanced process control are becoming strategic priorities rather than optional innovations,” Silva said, adding that adoption is expected to accelerate significantly over the next five years.

For Angola's mature producing assets, automation and predictive maintenance offer new opportunities to assess equipment condition, address obsolescence and extend operating life. AI-enabled reservoir management can further improve decision-making around infill drilling and production optimization, while autonomous operations have the potential to enhance both efficiency and safety across offshore facilities.

Silva believes Angola also has an opportunity to leapfrog more established producing markets by deploying integrated digital platforms without being constrained by decades of legacy systems.

At AOG 2026, Sistran will highlight the role of intelligent automation, autonomous operations and AI-driven decision support across the upstream and downstream value chain. The company is also expected to emphasize the importance of continued investment in digital infrastructure, local workforce development and stronger collaboration between operators, technology providers and regulators.

“Technology alone will not transform the industry,” Silva said. “Success will depend on creating an ecosystem that supports innovation, data sharing and workforce development.”

AOG 2026 will provide a platform for Sistran and industry leaders to explore how digital technologies can be deployed at scale to extend asset life, strengthen operational performance and enhance the long-term competitiveness of Angola's energy sector. Taking place September 9-10, with a pre-conference day on September 8, the event serves as the premier dealmaking platform for Angola's oil and gas industry.
