First Cargo from Angola’s Agogo Field Shipped During AOG 2025
First cargo from the Agogo Integrated West Hub (IWH) development project, operated by Azule Energy in block 15/06 in the lower Congo Basin, offshore Angola was officially shipped on Wednesday.

Shipping was given permission to commence by Angolan President João Lourenço during the opening of the Angola oil & Gas 2025 conference and exhibition and was presided over by Diamantino Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Angola; Paulino Jerónimo, president of Angola's National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency and Adriano Mongini, CEO, Azule Energy.

“This project is a testament to our continued desire to explore our natural resources,” stated Minister Azevedo, adding, “This is not only a technical gain, but also something that reinforces Angola as a beacon within the continent’s energy sector.”

The Agogo IWH officially began production in August this year and involved the full field development phase of two fields, Agogo and Ndungu. The fields have combined reserves of approximately 450 million barrels of oil and an expected peak production of approximately 180,000 barrels per day.

“The Agogo Integrated West Hub project stands as a testament to what we can achieve when international expertise meets Angolan excellence,” Mongini stated, adding, “This has culminated in the development of the Agogo project, which stands as a benchmark for global ambition and efficiency.”

The Agogo IWH project is operated by Azule Energy, a bp and Eni company, with a 36.84% stake alongside partners Sonangol E&P (36.84%) and Sinopec International (26.32%).
