Cabship Expands Digital Logistics Offering as Elite Sponsor of AOG 2026
As Angola's upstream industry grows increasingly complex, logistics provider Cabship is investing in digital technologies to help operators optimize supply chains, improve visibility and make faster, data-driven decisions.

According to Luis da Silva, General Manager of Cabship, the company's evolution has closely mirrored that of Angola's oil and gas industry. Having started as a maritime services company operating out of the Port of Cabinda, Cabship has steadily expanded its capabilities to support offshore operations through material management, inventory optimization, procurement and transportation services.

“Cabship's evolution has practically followed the evolution of Angola's oil and gas industry,” da Silva said. “We started as a small maritime services company in the Port of Cabinda. Today, we support much more complex offshore operations.”

A key part of that evolution has been the adoption of AI and digital tools to analyze the vast amounts of operational data generated through logistics activities. By providing clients with real-time insights, Cabship is helping identify operational bottlenecks earlier, improve reporting and enhance overall project execution.

“Logistics creates a lot of data, and our technology and AI are helping us analyze this data so we can make data-driven decisions in real time,” da Silva said. “Our clients and Cabship are able to make informed decisions and quickly identify any deviations from the original planning.”

According to da Silva, these technologies are also helping reduce the cost of doing business by improving transparency across projects and giving investors greater confidence that resources are being deployed efficiently.

“The noise in decision-making is starting to evaporate,” he said. “There is clarity that these tools are beginning to bring.”

Alongside digital transformation, Cabship continues to prioritize local content development, viewing Angolanization as a long-term investment rather than simply a regulatory requirement.

“We are fully committed to Angolanization, not purely as a regulation, but because we believe the sustainability of the energy sector depends on developing local capability able to meet international standards,” da Silva said.

In addition to investing heavily in workforce training, the company recently launched a full-time scholarship program with Angola's National Petroleum Institute, supporting students through a residential training program designed to equip the next generation of professionals with industry-relevant technical skills.

Looking ahead to the Angola Oil & Gas 2026 Conference and Exhibition, where Cabship returns as an Elite Sponsor, da Silva described the conference as one of the country's most important platforms for industry engagement, bringing together operators, service companies, policymakers and investors to strengthen partnerships and shape the future of Angola's energy sector.

“It brings all the players together to discuss the development of Angola's energy sector,” he said.
