BFA Targets Oil and Gas Supply Chain Growth as Silver Sponsor of AOG 2026

BFA Targets Oil and Gas Supply Chain Growth as Silver Sponsor of AOG 2026
Financing Angola's next phase of oil and gas development extends beyond multi-billion-dollar upstream investments, with demand for capital from independent operators and local service providers growing alongside the industry.

Angolan financial institution Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA) will bring this focus to the Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2026 Conference and Exhibition as a Silver Sponsor, highlighting the increasingly important role Angola's banking sector can play in supporting operators, contractors and service providers across the domestic hydrocarbon value chain.

BFA is already positioning itself as a strategic financial partner to the oil and gas sector. The bank's dedicated Oil & Gas and Institutional Department manages business operations and lending activities for clients in both segments, providing tailored banking solutions aligned with its corporate strategy.

The bank has also developed a financing mechanism specifically for companies providing services to the petroleum industry. Its BFA Tukila Support Line provides liquidity to address short-term treasury requirements while financing the machinery and equipment contractors need to execute work for operators. Under the facility, eligible companies can access financing covering up to 90% of invoices issued to oil and gas operators, with repayment terms of up to 180 days. The facility addresses one of the biggest challenges facing Angola's local service industry: access to working capital.

This comes as the bank continues to strengthen its lending activity. In 2025, BFA's credit portfolio grew 21.78% year-on-year to AOA 959.9 billion, while its loan-to-deposit ratio increased by 3.7 percentage points to 29.8%, reflecting greater deployment of deposits into productive lending.

As Angola's oil and gas industry enters a new phase of development, domestic financing will be as important as international capital. While global investors will continue to finance large-scale projects, domestic banks play a critical role in ensuring Angolan companies have the liquidity and financial tools needed to participate across the value chain.

AOG 2026 will connect financial institutions with operators, project developers, service providers and policymakers to examine how capital can be mobilized across the industry. As a Silver Sponsor, BFA will bring a distinctly local financing perspective to these discussions, demonstrating how Angola's banking sector can help translate energy investment into broader domestic business growth.
