BCI Highlights Digital, Operational Support for Angola’s Energy Sector
Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCI) is stepping up its support for Angola’s energy sector through tailored digital platforms and operational solutions designed to meet the industry’s competitive demands.
The bank served as a sponsor of the Angola Oil & Gas 2025 conference last month, where Elvino Mulumba, BCI’s Corporate Director, highlighted its initiatives and described the energy sector as “crucial to our country and therefore to our business.”
One of the bank’s key platforms, Kuzwela, is designed to improve transparency and engagement by providing clients and the market with a clear view of BCI’s operations, strategic priorities and financial performance.
According to Mulumba: “It was an exercise of transparency for the bank because we showed what our numbers are, and the policies we take into account to make sure we perform the best way possible. It’s an initiative that has pushed our business a lot and allowed us to grow.”
BCI is also focusing on digital access and operational performance. “In terms of digital access, we ensure that our partners have the most innovative platforms and solutions, tailoring them to their business model.”
He highlighted the importance of Service Level Indicators (SLIs) in the energy sector, adding: “It’s not just about the platform layout; we must ensure that the operations and transactions of the SLIs we provide function according to the demands we receive.”
