Corcel is preparing for a mid-2027 drilling campaign at KON 16 in the onshore Kwanza Basin following the completion of seismic acquisition during its 2025/26 campaign. Data processing is underway, with the company targeting prospects that could hold more than 300 million recoverable barrels. Beyond KON 16, Corcel holds interests in Blocks KON 11 and KON 12 alongside operator Sonangol, where new seismic work could support the redevelopment of the historic Tobias and Galinda fields while identifying additional pre- and post-salt prospects. CEO Scott Gilbert will participate at AOG 2026 as the company advances KON 16 toward drilling.

Corcel’s KON 16 strategy has also created an entry point into Angola for Sintana Energy. The Atlantic-focused company partnered with Corcel in May 2025 through a transaction that would give Sintana an indirect 5% net interest in the block, subject to regulatory approval. Sintana entered ahead of the completion of seismic acquisition, providing exposure to the prospect as it moves toward drilling. CEO Robert Bose will join AOG 2026 as Sintana and Corcel – both Elite Sponsors – advance their KON 16 partnership while evaluating additional oil and gas opportunities in Angola.

Angolan company Poliedro Energy brings a domestic upstream perspective to the conference. The company specializes in the management and operation of oil assets in Angola and forms part of the wider Poliedro Group, established in 2004 to strengthen national participation across the petroleum value chain. Poliedro holds interests in several assets, including Block 2/05, where operator Etu Energias is advancing appraisal drilling at Greater Espadarte, the block's final development area. Chairman & CEO Ulanga Gaspar Martins will participate at AOG 2026 as Angola continues to expand indigenous participation across exploration, asset management and production.

Meanwhile, Azule Energy's participation comes amid significant exploration and production milestones across its offshore portfolio. In June 2026, the company reached FID on the $5.1 billion Greater PAJ project, the first integrated cross-block oil development in Angola. At Block 15/06, the Agogo Integrated West Hub is producing through the Ngoma and Agogo FPSOs, while on the eastern side of the block, the 2026 Algaita-01 discovery identified up to 500 million barrels of oil near the producing Olombendo FPSO. Azule is also expanding Angola's gas production as operator of the New Gas Consortium, achieving first gas from the Quiluma and Maboqueiro development in 2026.
