AES Returns to AOG 2026 as Silver Sponsor Amid Angolan Exploration Surge and New Gas Discoveries

AES Returns to AOG 2026 as Silver Sponsor Amid Angolan Exploration Surge and New Gas Discoveries
Angola Environmental Serviços (AES) will return to the Angola Oil & Gas 2026 (AOG) Conference and Exhibition as a Silver Sponsor, underscoring the growing importance of environmental and waste management services in supporting Angola’s upstream growth strategy. The company’s participation comes amid an accelerated exploration and production drive in Angola, opening new pathways for collaboration between foreign operators and Angolan service providers.

AES provides integrated environmental services tailored to the oil and gas sector, including waste management, treatment, logistics and environmental monitoring. The company plays a critical role in supporting drilling campaigns, production operations and infrastructure development by ensuring that waste streams are handled in accordance with regulatory standards and international best practices. As Angola’s project pipeline expands, these services are becoming essential to maintaining operational continuity while minimizing environmental impact.

Angola’s upstream sector is entering a renewed phase of activity driven by new exploration campaigns, redevelopment of mature assets and targeted investment in both shallow and deepwater blocks. Several operators are advancing drilling programs aimed at unlocking new reserves, while ongoing efforts to stabilize production are supporting increased activity across existing assets.

Major developments include Azule Energy’s February 2026 Algaita-01 discovery, the launch of the New Gas Consortium’s non-associated project in March 2026 and the start of full-field production at the Ndungu field - part of the Agogo Integrated West Hub Development. Onshore, exploration continues to advance as independent operators target new discoveries. Oando formally entered Angola as an operator with its acquisition of a 45% stake in Block KON 13 this month, Corcel is planning a drilling campaign at KON 16 while Alfort Petroleum could drill an exploration well at KON 8 this year.

Against this backdrop, companies such as AES are positioned at the intersection of environmental compliance and production efficiency. The company’s evolution within Angola’s energy sector reflects a broader industry shift toward integrating environmental considerations into core project planning. As operators expand exploration into new areas and intensify production across existing fields, the ability to manage environmental risks effectively is becoming a critical factor in project viability.

AES’s participation as a Silver Sponsor at AOG 2026 builds on its previous engagement with the event and signals an expansion of its role within the market. AOG 2026 brings together key stakeholders across the energy value chain, including oil companies, service providers, investors and policymakers. For AES, the event offers an opportunity to position its capabilities within the context of Angola’s broader production strategy, highlighting how environmental services underpin safe and efficient operations.

As the industry moves toward more complex exploration and production programs, collaboration between operators and environmental service providers will be essential to ensuring sustainable development.
